Colline Teramane Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOCG
In 2017 we embarked on a new adventure – to produce Montepulciano in cocciopesto amphorae. It took five harvests for our idea to become a real wine. The years in between were an important experiment and the 2021 season brought the first vintage to market. The grapes are selected in an heirloom vineyard trained as traditional Abruzzo pergola, fermented with ambient yeasts, and aged for 12 months in cocciopesto amphorae.
Thanks to its microporosity and consequent micro-oxygenation, cocciopesto enhances the sensory qualities and aromas of the wine without adding any nuances of its own.
Cocciopesto Montepulciano is an original, expressive wine releasing aromas of red berries and Mediterranean scrub, with a rich palate and ripe tannins.
